Doodettes 1 & 2

It's me. Karen.
I am the older part of this duo of doodettes, sad. Not sure I like that part. I am eager to chronicle the projects I tackle here hoping that I learn something in the process. In the past few years I have taken on some projects I never would have considered in years past. I have always craved handy work on my home, always thinking of all the things I could do and dreamt of but never seemed to get them off the ground OR I met with little masculine resistance....cough, cough, ahem. Well, a couple of years ago I grew up and decided to learn how to do some of these things myself. I admit I had been afraid of power tools so with a little tutoring I was off and cutting, drilling, mitering, nailing and I LOVED it. I felt such accomplishment.

My history of crafting, decorating, sewing, and painting or wallpapering is long. I worked in crafts foreveh... doing crafts and selling them at craft shows from here in Utah to Idaho to south of Reno. Not that I'm all that creative but I can claim to being a visual person ... I see things in my head and then feel a need to create. Obsessively so. Call it what you want. Humility is rewarded and self promotion is not. Whatever you call it I can tell you what I have been given is a gift from my Heavenly Father. And I do give thanks.

So, this is where you may see the projects or not some are more presentable than others, if you know what I mean. I am getting better and even more gutsy. Enjoy your visit while we present these projects and work.

Hi there!
I am Karen's oldest, Krysten.

I grew up watching my Mom constantly painting, wallpapering, crafting. Growing up I never thought that I would be "crafty" or a "DIY'er". My love for crafting and DIY grew as I got married and needed to decorate and furnish my house.

I am not what you would call a typical "girl".  As a matter of fact I still do not like a lot of "girly" things. I am a "tom-boy".  I love sports, especially baseball, and football! If it came down to getting a project done, or watch a sporting event. I would put the project on the back burner and head off to the sporting event.

I have been married for 15 years now to my Hubs. I have 2 awesome-sauce kids. One boy and one girl... (who is more girl than I will ever be!)

My hobbies are sports of course, Crafting/DIY'ing, Photography (I'm just starting out on this one), Cooking (not baking - cooking),  and Reality TV (I am a junkie)

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you can find some inspiration from us!!
